Mustang was a Swedish firm located in the city Trelleborg. The name Mustang date from the year 1947. We have already had a question about this Swedish moped and you can read about it here. In Sweden, at that time, all mopeds were tested and approved by the authorities. One of them was Trafiksäkerhetsverket (TSV). On your moped there is a small plate with the text TSV 1615. The specifications for a moped numbered TSV 1615 are:
Wheel outer diameter: 51 cm
Gears: 3
Carburettor: Bing 1/10/122
Teeth, front pinion: 10
Teeth, rear wheel pinion: 36
Carburettor bore: 10 mm
Inlet diameter: 7,7 mm
These are the specific Swedish specifications for this model. We had a restriction to only 1 horsepower on our mopeds. If you need spare parts, you can put in an ad in the Swedish magazine Classic Motor which is free of charge for individuals. You can also contact a Swedish company called Rösebäckens Cykel & Motor. They have a lot of used parts to older mopeds.
