Manual till NV med 128 cc JB-motor

Fråga: I just acquired NV motorcycle but I am not sure what exact type it is and before I try to start I would like to look at operation manual to see points adjustment, oil and other stuff. I think I am only person who owns this bike in Czechoslovakia now.

Regards,

Svar: Your bike is an all-swedish bike. The frame is made by a company in the city Uppsala and was called Nymans Verkstäder (NV). The engine is made by a company in the city Eskilstuna by the company John Benson (JB). Your bike is therefore named ”NV-JB”.

The year of fabrication should be 1949 or maybe 1950. The front fork on your bike is of webb-type which was the first forkmodel och this bike. Late 1949 came the telescopic fork.

The ignition system is made in the city Husqvarna by the company Stensholms Fabrik (later called Stefa). Here are some technical data for the engine:

Bore/stroke: 55×54 mm

Capacity: 128 cc

Oil mix in petrol: 4%

Gear box oil: 0,25 litre of thin grease (floating, NLGI 00 or 000) You can mix oil and grease.

Clutch oil. 0,1 litre och thin grease (same as in the gearbox)

Ignintion: 4,5 mm before top dead centre

Points gap: 0,35 – 0,45 mm

Carburator: Amal 223 (British made)

Main jet size: 90

Maximum engine power: 4,5 horsepower
